Wolozin

Resveratrol Can Prevent Fatty Liver Disease
Researchers at the University of South Florida found that the resveratrol in peanuts can prevent fatty liver disease. (Yes, resveratrol is found in peanuts as well as grape and Ha-Huang).

Fed to mice, the amount of fat in the liver did not increase for the mice eating peanuts. All of the mice were fed alcohol, but only some were fed peanuts. Min You, head of the South Florida team said, "Resveratrol is a useful compound that can keep negative alcohol effects in check."

Resveratrol Fights Type 2 Diabetes
Resveratrol has also been linked to countering the effects of Type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, according to a recently published report by Baywood International, Inc., a group that studies anti aging discoveries.

When insulin resistant mice were given resveratrol, the team found the mice became more sensitive to insulin.

Red Wine Reduces Death From Heart Disease
The Copenhagen City Heart Study, which studies 15,706 people over 15 years, found that those who drank red wine had about half the risk of dying of heart disease as those who didn't.

Resveratrol May Help Parkinson's Disease Patients
The Michael J. Fox Foundation has raised over $142 million to help research the cure to Parkinson's Disease. Part of that funding has made its way to Dr. Benjamine Wolozin at the Boston University School of Medicine.

Dr. Wolozin has reported that recent progresses in the search for the cure have been tremendous. One of the potential treatments is Resveratrol.

Wolozin has been studying tiny round-worms that have the same protein that causes's Parkinson's Disease in people. The worms can get just as sick as Parkinson's patients, but if given resveratrol, they're protected from the illness and do not get sick.

Dr. Wolozin reports that testing resveratrol on humans could begin soon.
